Visiting where the "Sound Of Music" movie was filmed
A church in Salzburg as we were walking up the trail toward Hohensalzburg Fortress, a 900-year-old fortress, which is the biggest and most fully-preserved fortification in Europe. Before getting to the top of the fortress, we took another trail that took us to the Abby, where part of "The Sound Of Music" was filmed.

Inside the Abby
Leopoldskron Palace - The front exterior was used as the Von Trapp family home. If you have seen "The Sound Of Music" you may remember the scene where the children fell in the pond.
We ate lunch at an Italian restaurant across the pond from Leopoldskron Palace.
The gazebo where Leisl and Rolfe sang "Sixteen Going On Seventeen"
After leaving Salzburg, we headed down the road to Stuttgart, Germany, where we would be catching a tour bus to Paris, France. Along the way we stopped at Dachau Concentration Camp, located about 10 miles northwest of Munich, Germany. Dachau was the first Nazi concentration camp opened in Germany before World War II. The only picture we took was of the front gate. Once inside the camp, which has been turned into a memorial, we were awed by what we saw and honestly did not remember to take pictures. It was a sobering experience but one we were glad to have had.
