Grady: Judy and I arrived in Stuttgart, Germany and boarded a tour bus on Panzer Army Base that was headed for Paris, France. The bus left about 12:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 17 and arrived in Paris around 7:30 a.m. The bus toured through Paris until 11:00 a.m. driving by some of the historical sights. At 11:00 a.m. the bus stopped and parked at our meeting place. The tour guide informed us that we were free to see Paris on our own and meet back at the bus at 7:00 p.m. We were informed of the different modes of transportation, i.e., bus, subway, taxi or by walking. Judy and I decided to use the subway and walking as our way of getting around. We were given detail maps and were exicted about the adventure.
We were told by the tour guide that the Parisians were not very polite people, even to other Frenchmen. Since I remembered some French from having taken it in high school, we were hoping that would help us with getting around. I used a little French and everyone we conversed with was very helpful and polite. The subway was a little challenging at first, but it did not take us long to figure it out. Following are pictures of some of the places that we saw. You cannot see everything in one day. Paris is really beautiful. Yes, Heather we had someone take a picture of the four of us at a Greek restaurant and will post it for you the next time we do a post.

ReplyDeleteThis is so great. Thanks for the update! Yes, Heather is right. You will be very sad if you don't get plenty of pictures with at least the two of you in them. It also helps us realize that you're actually there!
