A Special Card From Our Kids
This is the front of the card that was given to us by all of our children for our 35th wedding anniversary. Please read the card as we take you through it. Every part of it is very special and means a lot to us.
The inside of the card has five parts to it. Each part has a special meaning.
The first tiny envelope you see, has a special message inside. It says, " A 35th anniversary is a momentous occasion, to be celebrated with dignity and awe. Your children are so thankful for the steadfast bond you have and celebrate with you every mountain-top anniversary year, like your thirty-fifth."
The second tiny envelope has a tiny message inside that brings laughter as we remember how much fun we had on our 20th wedding anniversary. It says, "Remember the year we made Tris dress up like a waiter while we served you dinner by candlelight in the living room"? Oh yes, how could we forget!
The third tiny envelope has a message inside that brings back precious memories. It says, "Remember when we sent you to the Bed and Breakfast on your 25th anniversary?" Of course we could never forget that experience. Our children gave us two nights to Delforge Place, a wonderful bed and breakfast in Fredericksburg, Texas. There were 25 beautiful roses sitting in the room when we arrived!
The message inside the fourth tiny envelope says something that we know to be very true, because our children have always been awesome about recognizing our anniversaries even when they were young. It says, "We've tried to celebrate with you on these special occasions. Now that you've reached 35 years, it's time to see what your children have gifted you with this time."
The tiny fifth envelope has a message inside that both humbled and honored us. It says, "On your 35th anniversary, your children (including Paul and Melissa) would like to send you on a trip to Germany. Enjoy the gift of fellowship, your time with Heidi and Paul. Enjoy the gift of travel, soak up all the wonderful and beautiful things you will see and hear and taste. Enjoy the gift of freedom, time away, time with each other, time to make memories." Wow! We don't know what else to say except 'Praise Him from whom all blessings flow'!
